About

Reading and mathematics are fundamental. We're on a mission to increase reading and math proficiency for lifelong learning. Our Mission

What Makes East Linden Outstanding

Our building is a Pre-K through fifth grade urban school. It is a transformed state of the art facility, which serves as an epicenter for families representing 20-30 cultural groups.  We have a balance of 1:1 technology, urban farming, and multiple strategic partnerships to support the needs of over 300 students and 40 staff members (shared with district).

Our school is 100% economically disadvantaged, 25% English learners, 17% students with disabilities, 90% African-American, 3% White, 5% Hispanic, and 2% multi racial.

We have a school population that consists of the following:  one Pre-K (regular education: 20 students), two kindergarten classes (52 students), first grade (43 students), second grade (49 students), third grade (63 students), fourth grade (57 students), and fifth grade (58 students). We have two English as a Second Language (ESL) classrooms which can serve up to 100 students and three special education resource rooms (one for high incidence and two for emotional disturbance).

Academic achievement and growth are the two major priorities for our school community. Our staff provides support for parents and students to ensure we meet our community goals. This aligned support is evident in our local business and faith-based partnerships.

Through our focus on inclusion and effective, challenging instruction, our school will achieve above average ratings in Progress and Gap Closing on the Ohio Report Card. Every student will grow at least one level in reading and math.
